In order of my preference ;)

AA, UA, SQ and BA.
AA brings more than UA?

You need a Citi Premier, Prestige, or Chairman card.

That stinks, but it doesn't say it on the site in the first post????

Considering the value of HHonors points, its a far cry from their original plans of a 1:1 transfer to BA and SQ.

Depends. But an AA top-up option (besides for some Diners possibility) is going to be great, if they won't enforce name-matching, which is TBD.

wife has the thankyou premier card, i also have one .  we both have 52k thank you points each on our  account.
i have 270k Hilton points, she has 200k hilton points.

Should  we transfer our thankyou points to hilton or there is a better value of the TY points?

we are both gonna close the  thank you premier cards  in couple of months when AF is due.

thanks for suggestions.

Do you have any travel planned in the near future? If it were me I'd use em to buy airline tickets.

if they add AA or United as transfer partner for 1:1, I would be elated and thrilled. for me AA and United is so good not only for international air travel but also for so many hotels, big and small at so many countries and cities.
I have booked 3-4 star hotels in north america and asia on AA.com for   3k 7k miles a night. I love AA miles for hotel award reservations cos it  always gives so good value on hotels. I like united little more for international air travel. and United award reservation is so easy. Booking international flight award reservation on AA.com is a PIA and always have to search from third party sites and calls to agents.

But both AA and United miles are not good for domestic round trip. 25k  domestic round trip is a huge waste.

just my thoughts! :P

I'd take $500 cash for 50k TY points but they don't have that deal.

for airlines  FF miles are unbeatable.

That is like me saying it is going to snow today and it rains next month and I was almost correct.
He got the Citi company correct, and he got the ideas of transfers correct.

Technically you can get a check for $500 for 50k TY points.  It is intended to pay a student loan or mortgage, but you can have it made out to your bank or credit card etc.
