I just read through twenty pages and can't believe No one mentioned the count of Monte Cristo! I'm also a big fan of dickens Tale if two cities, Oliver twist, David Copperfield.... Anyone else out there?
This might just be me, but I never saw a movie that I enjoyed more than the book it was made on.
On my list but don't see it happening any time soon.
On that note, is Game of Thrones worth reading or is the TV show better?
Just saw your question now because the thread just got bumped. The answer is a definitive yes, you should read the books. In my opinion it is almost impossible to follow all the characters without reading the books and understanding who is who and what is what. Just a note that as of the last season the HBO writers have basically taken a shortcut and changed parts of the story.
As long as I Live has got to be one of greatest inspirational books ever. this mans life causes us to appreciate the health we all (hopefully!) have and if , chalila lo aleinu, one doesn't, one can learn how extraordinarily steadfast this man clings to Hashem and how we must also. (the book writes that Rav Chaim Kaniefsy read the book and said its a ''must read'')
Just read מטלז עד מטלז The daily diary of R Chaim Stein from the war years. A fascinating "inside look"
Iv been meaning to read this. Is it an easy read or long and drawn out?
