Reading "Hand to Mouth: Living in Bootstrap America". Finding it very entertaining, informative and thought provoking (a bit too many F bombs but the book wouldn't be the same without them...).

Oh yeah.

Cat's Cradle? Seriously disturbing. And seriously the most cynical thing I've ever read. I'm scared to like it as much as I do...

Your thoughts on Leon Wieseltier's Kaddish?

For anyone interested in aviation. I'm reading QF32 (http://www.amazon.com/QF32-Richard-Crespigny-ebook/dp/B007KTLQ5W/) by the pilot of Quantas flight 32.

Obviously his account of the flight is fascinating and gave me a new respect for Airbus (I'm generally a fan of Boeing), but what I liked more is the first half of the book that goes through his history with flying and is a very interesting read.

Off topic a sec, why on a Boeing first flight the pilots dress with their suits, where is Airbus first flight they dress with parachutes?

Anyone read The Martian?

It's like the story of Apollo 13 on steroids.

The Martian is awesome. I really hope the movie isn't too much of a disappointment.

This might just be me, but I never saw a movie that I enjoyed more than the book it was made on.

They say "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" was better as a movie.

I'm still deciding...

On that note, is Game of Thrones worth reading or is the TV show better?

On that note, is Game of Thrones worth reading or is the TV show better?

Just saw your question now because the thread just got bumped. The answer is a definitive yes, you should read the books. In my opinion it is almost impossible to follow all the characters without reading the books and understanding who is who and what is what. Just a note that as of the last season the HBO writers have basically taken a shortcut and changed parts of the story.
