Read two vastly different books over Yom Tov.

Whether you're going to Antarctica of just have FOMO, this is an epic read:

Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing

I didn't even know that the second book existed until last week, and then I devoured it in one sitting. Must-read for anyone even remotely interested in Jewish history. It's absolutely mind-blowing in its simplicity:

The Memoirs of Gluckel of Hameln

You could see the original in Yiddish here: http://sammlungen.ub.uni-frankfurt.de/mshebr/content/pageview/1557447

Some background: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gl%C3%BCckel_of_Hameln
Gluckel. Loved that when I was a kid and have totally forgotten. Will need to find a copy now

I recently read The Prime Ministers based on all the many recommendations here.

I don't particularly follow politics yet I read this 700 page book in short order. Excellent.

Just finished Frank Abagnale's "Catch me if you can".

Very good book. I never watched the movie so I didn't have any spoilers. Slightly more vulgar than I thought. Not too long (~275 pages) which is a plus by me.

100 Deadly Skills

Meh. 3/5 for me. The problem with numbered list books is that often the author has to use filler information to get to that number. Stuff that are common sense.

I feel like this book was that. Besides for that a lot of the stuff I knew already from other places. There was some new information/ideas that I got from it but nothing major.

Basically if this is the first book of it's kind that you read you might find it interesting.

Just finished "I have lived a thousand years".

It's the first book I've read about the Holocaust.

Crazy. And here we are living like kings.
