Really enjoyed this book. Lots of interesting tidbits about Chassidic Dynasties that I'd never seen before.

Don't know anything about this book, but the author co-wrote a book about the Lubavitcher Rebbe a few years ago which was full of mistakes and falsehoods.

ETA: I see someone mentioned that book in the previous post.

All the books about the Lubavitcher Rebbe are full of mistakes and falsehoods, just depends on whose lies you want to believe

"The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland"

Cried, laughed, enjoyed the parts about the Lubavitcher figuring out why he was stuck in Gander.
Not sure how I haven't read it until now:

It looks really interesting!

Just want to say, on that note, I saw the Broadway musical 'Come From Away' and it was amazing and I had similar experiences. It's an incredibly moving story.

Just finished Dan Browns latest book, Origin.   Not as great as his original works but better than his last few books.
Worth a read.

Just finished Ender in Exile, if you're a fan of the Ender series I'd recommend it. Read the four Shadow books first though.

Couple of books I read recently:

Custer's Trials by T.J. Stiles is an epic read. If you are at all interested in American history, primarily the Civil and Indian Wars, this is a must-read.

Skyfaring by Mark Vanhoenacker has been discussed elsewhere on DDF. I'll admit to be slightly disappointed with it, as the wonderful NY Times feature kinda gives away the best parts. Nevertheless, this is an amazing book for any aviation nerd.

Rube Goldberg: His Life and Work by Peter C. Marzio was a very entertaining read, if the tiniest bit tedious at times. Rube wasn't only about Rube Goldberg machines; he was way more multifaceted than that.

The innocents Abroad by Mark Twain is, as you'd expect, full of the crazy humor and ridiculousness that no modern author has been able to match. Wonderful glimpse into the less-glamourous side of travel, and the day-to-day life in the 1860s all around the Mediterranean.

Loved his book the Outliers, very interesting theory there.

Midway through Outliers- it's fascinating.

His Blink was also very highly recommended.

All his books are good and worth reading. Although, IMO, they all declined from The Tipping Point. Also, David and Goliath, although interesting, just wasn't up to par with his other books.

I'm looking for 2 books. One on economics, and one on Jewish philosophy (the only one I know is R' Avigdor Miller's rejoice o youth). Any recommendations? Podcasts are also fine. Thanks.

R' Akiva Tatz wrote some phenomenal books. 2 of my favorite are Living Inspired and The Thinking Jewish Teenager's Guide to Life (which is great even for post-teenagers)

Oh I actually read some of the thinking Jewish teenagers guide. Yes, it's written very well. I just got turned off from the title. Me and the word teenager don't get along very well. But anyways I'll look into the living inspired one.
