R' Akiva Tatz wrote some phenomenal books. 2 of my favorite are Living Inspired and The Thinking Jewish Teenager's Guide to Life (which is great even for post-teenagers)
I loved Living Inspired. Read that book multiple times when I was younger.

I was on a R' Tatz kick a few years ago, read his "Guide for the Thinking Jewish Teenager", "Living Inspired" download a ton of his shiurim to my iPod...

@Definitions
I was also a little turned off by the title. People looked at me strangely when they saw me reading it (it's kind of like announcing 'I'm a thinking teenager and you guys are just morons') and I took to hiding the book behind a different jacket cover.

I never got to "Letters to a Buddhist Jew", though.

Should I look into it now?

I'd also recommend Tzvi Freeman's "Heaven Exposed" which is Jewish philosophy wrapped in funny short stories.

If All the Seas Were Ink: A Memoir, by Ilana Kurshan.
If you have done the Daf Yomi cycle (I'm on my 4th), and are in the mood for an unconventional, albeit earnest, approach, to be taken with a grain of salt, you will enjoy this.

Read two vastly different books over Yom Tov.

Whether you're going to Antarctica of just have FOMO, this is an epic read:

Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing

I didn't even know that the second book existed until last week, and then I devoured it in one sitting. Must-read for anyone even remotely interested in Jewish history. It's absolutely mind-blowing in its simplicity:

The Memoirs of Gluckel of Hameln

You could see the original in Yiddish here: http://sammlungen.ub.uni-frankfurt.de/mshebr/content/pageview/1557447

I recently read The Prime Ministers based on all the many recommendations here.

I don't particularly follow politics yet I read this 700 page book in short order. Excellent.
