Classics are classics for a reason. Had a chance to enjoy Mark Twains "The Prince and The Pauper" recently.

I know artscroll came out with a nice book on the Reichmanns, but I found "The Reichmanns" by Anthony Bianco to be fantastic, gave me a much deeper understanding and respect for the family. Caveat: It contains certain allegations that if you may be uncomfortable reading you should stay with the artscroll version.

I got through the library for free.
It's been a long time since I read a book. Even longer since I used my 3rd gen keyboard kindle :)
Did you know the kindle store isn't available on it anymore?!
Luckily it's still able to get books sent to it via Amazon.
My Tapatalk notifications don't always work.

Read this over yt. I've never been to MTJ. It seemed to me like a probable accurate depiction of it. I'm basing it off of how he constantly sticks in pieces of gemara/tanach and writes what other people had to say about it. Which seemed like a normal frum explanation without deviations or agendas.
Yeshiva Days
https://press.princeton.edu/books/paperback/9780691203997/yeshiva-days

I did get bored of it midway and had to push myself to finish it. But even then once I started to read it, it moved smoothly.

There's no storyline to it. It's basically him reminiscing his time there.

Interesting, need to read up on that, do you have a link?

Whatever risks there were are incomparable to what’s going on now.
@imayid2 You would probably enjoy the Palestinian Delusion. There's a chapter close to the beginning discussing the immigration policies of the brits and he mentions both sides (Wise versus lehavdil Harav Kalmanowitz) and what they did.

The rest of you might enjoy this, too.

Dawning of the Day by Haim Sabato (started yehiva Birkat Moshe in Maaleh Adumim). A wonderfully sweet tale. Doubles as a mussar sefer, not through preachiness, but through demonstrating the heights simple people can attain through their daily life. A book to be read slowly and savored.

His latest book's idea is that the left is intentionally pushing leftist agendas so hard that it will force rightists to engage in violence, which will give the left justification for setting up an authoritarian leftist regime. About 5 of his older books are about jihad. Does he seem sensible on the page?
Do you want to play a board game, digitally or in Lakewood NJ? PM me. (Can be asynchronous, i.e. take turns whenever)

1. I know nothing about the author, happened across the book only.
2. This book is primarily sources with almost no commentary, though the commentary there is is mildly derisive of those who do not understand the situation and the Muslim Arab shitos.

Cherry picked sources are commentary especially if they are out of context

Nevertheless they are sources, and long ones, and many of them. Whatever.

I'm reading Go, My Son, and based on what I read, the Nadan in the song, Yakob, seems to be highly exaggerated.

I don't know anything about the norm at the time, or about how literal R' YomTov Ehrlich tried to stay with his songs, but R' YomTov Ehrlich was a personal friend of R' Yaakov Potash, the protagonist of the song, so I'm assuming he knew the correct details. (IIRC, he made the song for R' Yaakov's wedding and played it repeatedly during the wedding.)
