Excellent new book called commerce on shabbos.  Its a great read. Includes the following topics:

- Is one permitted to list an item on ebay if the auction is scheduled to conclude on Shabbos?
- May one allow his e-commerce website to remain open on Shabbos?
- What should be done if one cannot possibly close his business on Shabbos, such as a nursing home or a store in a mall?
- Must one close his business in a different time zone once it is Shabbos in his location?

Just read Inferno by Dan Brown. Thought Angels & Demons and Davinci Code were much better.
Has anybody read SOLO (new James Bond)?

If you want to read "goyisher beecher" then at least "keep it in the family."
Franz Kafka's The Trial is the only modern novel you ever need to read. The rest are just imitations (and imitations of imitations) of that one book.

He was, though that doesn't make his books Jewish...

What????
The only book? How long does it take you to read and what do you do once you're done?? And the book wasn't even really completed :D

You ask that question as if I sit in an armchair with a mug of herbal tea and read novels. Read The Trial, realize that every other modern Western novel is derivative, and then go learn a blat gemara.

How can every novel be derivative if so many were written before kafka. There are plenty novels out there to read.
Really dumb comment about blatt Gemara Btw if you want to talk about Gemara start a "learn blatt Gemara thread" a deal we can all join and talk there. In the meantime don't come to a thread regarding books and try to be all elitist and holier the  the rest of us that read "goyisher beecher"...

On a side note, the only book that I heard to be the basis of all American novels and Hollywood movies is Homer's Odyssey

Thanks:)
On a side note its ironic for someone to recommend The Trial by Kafka which isn't the cleanest book out there and a blatt gemara at the same time...

Anyone one ever read Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch album. I don't read much and a friend recommended it. It completely blew my mind. Must read.
