Is Direct Deposit needed to receive the bonus?

I have one of these accounts, and the requirement in order to avoid a monthly service charge was to have a minimum $1500 in the account and/or direct deposit. I have maintained the 1500 balance and never seen a service charge - this is for the checking account. I do not have the Chase Premier Plus Checking which receives the $300 bonus.

Customer must deposit at least $100 in the account in the first 60 days.
