So the truth is, while I was on the plane the only thing I was thinking about was if I was going to survive the flight and live another day (seriously). I was not thinking about how i'm gana keep Shabbos in a few hours.  While on the phone with my father while in PHL, he was trying to get in touch with R' Dovid Feinstein.  I was not able to hear anything from him due to the guy taking the phone away.  So I was left with knowing nothing.

When we got to airport the worker said we cant take the train.  I said ok.

The Halachik issues that I was aware of were the doors, toilets, and sinks which were all electric...Which I tried my hardest to avoid.  And the fact my wife did not light which was ok due to these circumstances (wasnt like she forgot to light).

When I got home I was told that R' Feinstein paskened that I was not able to walk out of the airport because of קונה שביתה.  I'm not sure what the exact psak about using the train was.  I thought I was told when I got home I was able to use it but maybe he thought it was inside the airport (?).

Wow this story is so crazy. I am just imagining my wife and I camping out in JFK for a whole Shabbos and I truly cannot even imagine what that would be like, especially after a crazy flight.

As crazy as this sounds...the flight was worse for me than Shabbos. Like I mentioned, it might of been the first time in my life I truly did not think I was goong to make it. It was like the plane was flying through a hurricane and you can really feel the plane moving back and forth.

If this happened to me, I seriously wonder if my wife would ever agree to another trip.

Not really.  I've flown many times after that.  Now when I feel turbulence it doesn't really bother me at all after the turbulence I experienced in that trip.
