Seems like most of the $30 shirts are of the super slim tailored variety, if I'm 1 15.5 classic, do you think I can get away with a 16 super slim?

Its worth a shot if you find a shirt you really like.  They have a good return policy.
Just note that the extra slim fit shirts all have spread collars which are fine without a tie but if you wear a tie with them then it must be a thin tie

I dont think it must be a thin tie...ive worn regular ties with CT spread collar shirts and they look just fine...guess it depends on the knot.

maybe, for me it just doesnt look right unless its a thin tie.  I think if you make a very big knot then it would look fine with a bigger tie.  My knot is avg size

How is it with a skinny tie (=small knot) it looks good but with a regular tie it would only look good with a big knot?
