Awful Orbitz Situation - advice?

I had an excellent claim!

The site said I have until 10pm the next day and I purchased my tickets at 12:05 AM. Thus I should have had 45 hours and 55 minutes to cancel.

However, the site failed to mention that the purchase time gets calculated by central time even if I am in New York. Therefore I may have bought it on Wednesday but since in Central time it was still Tuesday the only gave me 22 hours instead of 46.

In any event, if my bank said it was settled, my question is: Is it their responsibility to work it out with orbitz?

Your bank didn't settle, or they wouldn't get the funds from the airline, and the airline wouldn't seek the funds from Orbitz.

He's saying that the bank won the dispute but they can't do anything if orbitz want to come after me anyway. He said ignore the collection agency it won't affect my credit in any way.

I was just going to mention that possibility. Anytime you dispute a charge and Chase sides with you, what's to stop the disputant (disputee?) from continuing to try to collect from the cardholder?

I'm not sure it can effect your she if they don't have your social but I'm not 100 percent sure

I spoke to a supervisor who said the same thing but added that they won the dispute because the airlines never bothered to respond to it.

I had a similar Situation with rental car. I won a Dispute on a damage, they came after me directly. At the end they let me off the hook.

But just because you win a Dispute, that doesnt mean you are legally off the hook.
