I recently applied for the Citi AA Amex card to get the 35k promo, I never had this card before, I have a AA Visa personal and business. I got this letter (see below) rejecting my application. I have no clue why I was reject my credit score is over 760 and i have only one personal card with citi with 20k credit limit, the income I reported on application was well over $100k, they are telling me the extended the max credit to me. I have called a couple of times speaking to credit analyst and their manager but I have yet to make sense of this.
I called my visa card telling them I am going to cancel the card to free up my "Citi" credit they offer me 3,000 miles to stay, not bad since I got 5,000 miles 2 months ago calling to close my account. I obviously would rather the 35k promo and 3k for the 2-5 points it cost my credit score.
Please let me know if you have any sugestions of who I should speak to get this resolved so I can get my card
