How much faster is 4g the 3g?

According to Sprint:

Quote
4G speeds are up to 10x faster than 3G. That's like swapping out DSL for a high-speed cable modem.

So what's the difference? 4G3G
Average download speeds3-6 Mbps600Kbps - 1.4 Mbps
Peak download speedsMore than 10 MbpsUp to 3.1 Mbps
Monthly limitAll you can stream, browse, email, chat, watch and game.5GB

Not bad, especially on the upload!

Probably not enough to get me off my $29 Cable line though:

Actually, your upload speeds are horrendous! barely 0.5 Mb/s?! You SHOULD be getting 1-3Mb/s on average. If that's normal for you, I'd have a word with Cable right away! Do people have trouble hearing you on skype or other VOIP applications? Connections drop alot?
Funny how your data card gets a healthier 1+Mb/s.

Oh, but yes. I played with the EVO all week at work, but no, I didn't buy one. No SERO and even a $10 fee on top of a regular plan?! No way... Maybe if it had a keyboard. But its a solid device, and I do really like it.

Yup, the upload speeds are poor, but I don't want them to touch my $29 plan as it should really be $49 so I'll suffer with it.
Skype isnt great, but no major issues or dropped calls.
And regular browsing is blazing fast.

How is the general responsiveness of the phone?  Does it lag at all?  Even after adding many apps?
I'm so sick of my iPhone 3G - they really did something really wrong with it.  It takes like 5-10 seconds to open up my SMS app.

it's pretty responsive although I haven't had it log enough I added many apps and it doesn't seem to suffer even while multitasking.  about your 3g try reinstalling the firmware. unless of course you have you phone unlocked.

I was just playing around with the Evo. I found it to be pretty similar to the Nexus one (google phone). The size of the screen and the colour clarity are beautiful. But it is really heavy, it feels like your holding a brick.

The awesomeness of the EVO makes up for the size and weight. I dont even feel the weight.. come on... 1GB Snapdragon processor!! Never ever lags!
Before I got it I was reluctant because it didn't have a physical keyboard. Was considering getting the Samsung Moment (also android and touch, but includes a slide out keyboard).
Ended up getting the EVO for myself and the Moment for my wife and I am so glad I went down that road...........
