Oh trust me, the question has been asked thousands of times. I had box seats to Birchas Kohanim on Sukkos, made my own miyan shavuos morning their, to avoid the insanity that goes on "downstairs"
come on, the farm ain't all that bad

True. Anyway did people in that neighborhood make a petition when Aish built their building?

They did everything, there was $10s of millions lost in property value. If you walk behind Aish, you will see apartments with big bay windows pointing to... the back of Aish

Wow, what's the whole story?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I honestly don't know it. All I've heard was that it went to court, and Aish used protectzia. But they owned the property, and I guess they had rights to build up. I don't know IL building/zoning law.

That's not the whole story. At the time that Aish got the property and announced plans to build (20+ years ago) many of the people sold pretty low and the new people who bought gambled on the fact that Aish wouldn't get done. Same story with most of the buildings in the plaza area. The Goren family has done quite well for themselves :)

How else do you win a court case in Israel?

The building has been blocking the view for at least 15 years

The newer building was the bigger issue. But yes, it was announced and fought over for many years before it was built
