Facts
The flu vaccine causes more deaths per year than chicken pox.
The direct injection of RSV immunoglobulin, commonly known as the "RSV vaccine" would prevent 16x more deaths than the flu vaccine does, but is too expensive.
There is a vaccine for the plague, and that is why it is no longer an epidemic.
Ebola is caused by vaccines.
There is a vaccine for autism, but it causes mumps.

Opinions
Vaccines do not contain thimerosal, a known toxin.
If you snuck up on your neighbor's kid and cut open his skull, you would be arrested.  But when brain surgeons do it, and charge hundreds of thousands of dollars, it considered "medicine."
99% of vaccines do not cause autism (HT JJ1000).
Every pedi has seen healthy kids become sick physically & mentally hours after a vax (HT Baryochai)
Vaccines cause cancer, infertility, astma, adhd etc (HT Baryochai)

Chicken pox isnt that bad. Most people over 30 were never vaccinated against it. Dont know what the big deal is. When one of our friends had it our parents brought us over so we would all catch it. Its a one and done in the childhood version and same in the shingles adult version.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Yes two weeks off school for all the kids+ off work for the parents.

Was it really worth it for that feel good/I'm so smart moment when you declined the vaccine?
Its definitely negligence to not protect ones children from a fully preventable, uncomfortable, painfully illness.
It doesn't matter how good it makes you feel, it's selfish.

Hate to break it to you, but doctors are much more split on this one than something like the Flu vaccine (and obviously more serious things like DTaP, MMR, Polio, etc.). It's not even part of the standard immunization schedule in the UK (it's targeted to those particularly susceptible). My kids were vaccinated for chickenpox, but I'm not about to run around calling parents (or doctors) monsters for not vaccinating their kids - a case that'd be much easier to make for much of the rest of the standard immunization schedule.

Quote from: CDC link=http://www.cdc.gov/features/preventchickenpox/
Chickenpox can be serious. Before there was a vaccine, chickenpox caused about 4 million people to get sick, more than 10,500 hospitalizations, and about 100 to 150 deaths each year. Most people who had severe chickenpox were healthy beforehand.

My sister in law was hospitalized as a kid when one of the pox developed into cellulitis and almost killed her.

Giving other kids chicken pox from a kid who already has it is a crude and cruel version of vaccinating.

You need to balance that against the risk adjusted costs of the vaccine.

Maybe. Aren't millions of voters negligent for nominated Trump/Hillary/Sanders (any of those)?

So the whole of the UK is grossly negligent?
If the child's protection is readily available and declined by the parent, it is negligence.
If it's not available in the UK it's not negligence

Right, so the way you (and the medical establishment) flippantly state that makes me doubt you've actually considered it.

You do realize that shingles is not "one and done" don't you?

What do you mean? I had shingles. Lasted a week and half or so. I was under impression that means I can't get it again.
