Menashe Sofer (Frum Service): A few NIS more than Nesher.

Train רכבת:

Starting from September 2018 there is a direct train line between the airport and Jerusalem's central bus station which is at the main entrance to the city.
Train runs every half hour and cost 17 shekel per ride. I think there is a discount if you buy round trip.

To get to the train: Leave the terminal through exit 01 and it is directly on your right. You can buy a ticket from the automatic machines outside the station entrance.
Please note that the train only runs during the day and not at night. Check the Israeli rail  website in advance if you are not sure.

Israel Railway English site.

I would assume 2 busses, a local Dan bus to either central business station/arlozorov/arlozorov/aluf sadeh and the a bus to Jlem either 400 or 402 IIRC should cost around 25NIS total.

Amount of passengers can change what pays off, I was speaking about one person with busses it's per person with cheaper fares for kids with a taxi you would pay mostly the same. Although it would be probably around 200 for that...

I have a family of 5 (including 2 year old twins) with a bunch of luggage going from the airport to Jerusalem next week. My cousin was supposed to pick us up but had to cancel so now need to figure out alternative.

Is a sheirut still the best option? It's 65 per person? Anything else we should be considering?

bus is the cheapest.
Taxi is usually cheaper than sheirut for that group size.
And I think sheirut went down to 61.

You paid 64 or were told 64? Since if you pay 64 they don't give change.

Pretty sure was told 64. Actually ended up paying 70, as it was taking a while for a tenth person to come and everyone in the nesher just wanted to leave. Based on the fact it was 70 per person for 9, it's possible it was actually 63.

Quite common for people to pay $20. It's only a few shekel more that the person wouldn't really feel the difference, and for someone without shekalim, it's worth the difference for the convenience.

They do and can get a bigger one. One of the miracles of Israel is how much square feet of luggage a car can transport. You'd be surprised.
