Raanan: Private driver. Usually beats Hadaka 99's price if he's available to drive then.

Nesher: 64 ₪.  They go at the top of every hour.  Must reserve 12-24 hours in advance.
Menashe Sofer (Frum Service): A few NIS more than Nesher.
Hasaah: 450 ₪ for huge van (just did with 2 parents, 3 kids, 10 bags) Shouldn't be more than 350 (If need a guy, you can PM moish)

Bus:
Option A:
1. Take Egged 947 / 950 from Central Bus Station to Tzomet El-Al.  Busses run Approximately every 20-30 min. from 6 AM to 10 PM. Takes ~40 min. Price: 25 ₪.
2. Transfer to local bus 5 / 5A / 13 to Terminal 3. Every 20-30 min. 5:30 AM - 9:10 PM.  Price unknown.
Option B:
Bus 485 (run by Afikim) runs approximately 5 minutes after the hour on the hour around the clock from the Jerusalem Central Bus Station (stop is in front of Mercantile Bank) to Terminal 1 and 3, and from Terminal 1 and 3 to the Jerusalem Central Bus Station. Price: ₪16.

Train רכבת:

Starting from September 2018 there is a direct train line between the airport and Jerusalem's central bus station which is at the main entrance to the city.
Train runs every half hour and cost 17 shekel per ride. I think there is a discount if you buy round trip.

To get to the train: Leave the terminal through exit 01 and it is directly on your right. You can buy a ticket from the automatic machines outside the station entrance.
Please note that the train only runs during the day and not at night. Check the Israeli rail  website in advance if you are not sure.

Israel Railway English site.

Walk: 0 NIS Takes about 13 hous and 47 minutes give or take a few depending where you start.

Thanks! 5 people and suitcases, is the bus a better option? This thread made taxi seem better, expected cost 350
5 people plus suitcases won't fit in a regular taxi. You're going to need a van which would cost ~375/400
IMO for 5 pax it's not worth taking the bus but it's up to you, it's definitely the cheapest option (16nis pp) but only gets you to the entrance of Jerusalem.
if you're paying 400 it's worth it to take two taxis already @180mis.
And once you get to the tachaneh take a regular bus.
You can either use Google Maps to know which buses to take or use an app called" move it", should you decide to take the buses.

I have a great driver, though I don't think he would be the cheapest as the thread states

yes
They take you and drop you anywhere. Sometimes it's excruciatingly long.

This topic has been going back and forth forever.

Can someone please clarify what is the cheapest & best private transport from airport to jerusalem? Both for a van and a regular car.

Please include price and contact info.

The cheapest way is not private and it's the bus beyond that nesher which not private either. The next cheapest is taxi companies,  there is some variation in taxi companies that changes periodically. Soon beh there will be a train which will be the fastest and cheapest...but not private.
Also the thread never claims to deal exclusively with private transportation.

There is no set cheapest one. The cheaper ones get more expensive as they get more popular. The ride should cost between 150-200 for a car and can really depends on how many passengers and suitcases. Assume 250-350.

I contacted a couple of people and they want around $100 for car and $160 for a van.

How do I get one for the price you mention? (200nis/350nis)

I'm really curious who wanted those prices. Even an airport taxi isn't close to that price.
There are private ones that's are even cheaper but bar ilan taxi and Daka 99 should be 180-200 for a car.
I don't have the other numbers on me this moment.

For comparison, what would an airport taxi charge? And do they have vans or do vans need to be ordered in advance?

Used to be around 300 I believe but they changed the way it works a couple months ago. Now it's cheaper though not sure exact price and even significantly cheaper than that if you go upstairs to departures.
Even Gett is a set price of 249.
Not sure about vans although whenever I had checked they had vans.

Your basically asking for a new thread titled "Please use this taxi company"
And then, as we start giving them business...
cheaper ones get more expensive as they get more popular.
