Starting from September 2018 there is a direct train line between the airport and Jerusalem's central bus station which is at the main entrance to the city.

To get to the train: Leave the terminal through exit 01 and it is directly on your right. You can buy a ticket from the automatic machines outside the station entrance.
Please note that the train only runs during the day and not at night. Check the Israeli rail  website in advance if you are not sure.

Israel Railway English site.

If I add free rides now, when do they expire?

Also, how many free rides can I add now?

No idea when they will expire or of they'll last after the free ride program stops.

My brother did 8 and then it didn't let him anymore trips on.

Just took the train from TLV to Jerusalem on Thursday.

Extremely easy and quick. Just go outside and downstairs to the train. Runs aprox every 30 min.

23 min later you're in Jerusalem just like others have said.

Bought ticket in TLV for 17 NIS.

Thanks everyone here for the help. Highly recommended.

Anyone tried bringing an electric scooter/ Electric bike on the train in J-lem.
Officially the rules say no E-bikes, Segways, Scooters etc going from the J-lem train station.

OK, my flight is scheduled to land at 3:35 AM. what are the chances i have an option besides
a) a one way rental
b) a taxi

both of which cost a lot more than i want to spend on it.
i wish i knew what i was doing...

Ask around. I'm sure someone will be willing to split a cab with you.
Make sure you order one from Daka 90 or some other company with normal pricing instead of the over priced, tourist trap, airport taxis.
