Starting from September 2018 there is a direct train line between the airport and Jerusalem's central bus station which is at the main entrance to the city.

To get to the train: Leave the terminal through exit 01 and it is directly on your right. You can buy a ticket from the automatic machines outside the station entrance.
Please note that the train only runs during the day and not at night. Check the Israeli rail  website in advance if you are not sure.

Any recent advice on this? 2 people, so a cab shouldn't much more expensive than a sheirut, plus it's much more convenient.
Do I need to book a cab in advance or just pick up any on the street?

Agree on a price before I get in the cab or meter? What's considered reasonable these days?

To TLV most won't do meter and only do a set price.

Its not worth doing the meter bec a lot of times there's traffic. If it's day time you should be able to get around 170 shek mayb a little more

If your planing on going FROM tlv airport to jerusalem you can only take the oficial airport cabs unless you order one from elswhere.
The airport cabs are a very expensive set price of 265 shek by day or 320 at night, dont take them.

I agreed already. Didn't realize how much this would break the bank.
In a 12-day period:
TLV-JER
JER-SDV (to eilat)
SDV-JER (from eilat)
JER-TLV

That's like $200 just in cabs. Lol?

Nice idea.

Walking/maybe a bus. The furthest walk we have is Rechavia to the Kotel and what's that? 1/2 hour - 45 min through the beautiful Yerushalayim?? :)

Fun with 2 ppl and a few bags, getting dropped off at the tachana and taking a taxi from there to final destination? Doesn't seem so fun...
