You sure you are not ordering from the business side?

Look at the right side of the screen and make sure personal is checked.

Yes, I'm ordering from Personal not Business.
By the way, that just means the Gift Cards will look more personal and less like business type cards, just like there is a Holiday and Someone Special section too.

No it is two different check outs with different limits. Try and order 25k from the personal side and see what happens.

Nope. Just tried your link. Continue through the process and scroll down, you'll see them asking for your company name.
I did a little research. It seems Amex now only sells Business GC.

Both checkouts ask for company name. On the business side it will have a "*" and business name is required. On the personal checkout it still asks for business name but is not required. At least that is how it is showing for me.

You're right. It's still strange that they ask for a Company name.

Any idea of which CC will give you an issue besides Citi for excessive Amex GC purchases and how much is considered excessive?? I have an idea for a business rewards program but it would require thousands if not hundreds of thousands spent on Amex GCs. I just would hate to get shut down from chase/amex/capital one. I brought the idea to a friend (his business) and promised to look into what the risk factor would be. I've done some research but can't seem to pin down any numbers. If anyone has any idea and would like to share I would greatly appreciate it.

How long after receiving them are they getting cancelled? How do you know they are getting cancelled, notification via mail or just swiping them in a store and getting denied?

No...don't think that's what was meant by "getting shut down" I think the other posters were referring to no longer being able to buy gift cards, i.e. being shut down from buying gift cards. After all, technically, the GC programs don't exist for us to buy them to accelerate spending thresholds. They are actually supposed to be "gifts"

I beleive they mean the orders were shut down in processing stages.

Any idea how many GC, personal or on business side, before you run into issues??

Unless I am terribly mistaken, there is NO WAY a gift card will get cancelled once it has been delivered. That would jeopardize the whole value of the gift card system -- what company or person would ever buy GCs to give as gifts if there was the possibility the recipient would suddenly have a worthless card.

It has happened with Amex but it had to do with up their messed up fraud detection system.

But then I'm sure after a phone call to the # n the back of the GC it would have been resolved. Fraud Dept putting a hold on a credit card has happened to me many times (less so in recent years).

All I know, is that my Amex Gift Card purchases keep getting denied by Amex. Yet when I call they can't figure out why.
Is it possible they caught on that people are doing this just to reach the spending threshold and are therefore making it so difficult?
