It is confirmed that Citi will consider these as a Cash Advance. They will hit you with a fee AND won't count them toward spending.

HOW TO CASH OUT?
Blue Bird: Amex gift cards cannot be used to load bluebird.
Money Orders: Many locations require a debit card with a PIN; Amex GC don't have a PIN.
Try Amazon Payments, Target Amex or MC/VS GC's from many places.

Ha! Only dropouts work at Barclays!

Yes- you need Arrival. Otherwise you get the mall for your card ( US Air -> US Airways mall).

Yep. 2 points posted the normal time for purchase, and the additional 4 now (a little less than a month after the purchase). Note that if you use a code to waive the activation fee the amount of the fee is subtracted from the point calculation, so for a $2k order my "spend" was $1996.05 and therefore the bonus was 7984 points.

If only I had more unloading capacity...
