Best Airline Service to Israel?
« on: January 16, 2013, 09:41:08 AM »
Flying coach and would like to use miles/points to obtain my tickets. Which airline offers the best quality coach service. El Al, Continental, Delta, United...others?

Thanks.

PS - which airline typically has the best deals in terms of number of points required?

Are you flying direct from NY?
Will you be using a stopover from your Award ticket?

I think united is the best personally, i havent been on delta since they refurbed that plane, my last experience with them was horrific on an antique plane. also whats continental? :) :)

@ Reb Moshe -- LOL. Totally forgot! Oy. I will be flying from NYC and prefer a non-stop although one stop in a city like London, Paris, etc. would be ok. I recently flew El Al and was surprised at how narrow and close together the coach seats were. Reminded me of a short haul domestic flight rather than what I would like to see on a 10+ hour flight.

if you have not flown for a while, all airlines are trying to get in more seats.. so coach is coach wherever you go.
was happy with Delta, with continental, and AA with a connection to BA/LY in Europe.
All were fine.

i hadnt flown direct for many years till this past summer. while the service over all was good i find that the service on European (except Alitalia and Iberia) flights to better than NYC-TLV. also it may just be the size of the planes (NYC-TLV typically a 777 or 747 while Europe many times is 767 or smaller)

When I flew on LY, I went to the galley and helped myself, check out all stowage etc... The FA came screaming, 'why are you touch our stuff'!?!, I answered, 'haven't you told me 'Fell yourself like home!?!?''
(I never flew on LY, hope never will...)

ok, lets clarify, when OP is looking for good service, what does OP mean?

a flight is almost like a bus trip, just longer, and you get a meal (if you ordered and confirmed). what service are you looking for?
