Most DMZ tours include the JSA, if not make sure yours does.
From what I heard , its very long and drawn out, they take you to different places to see the fence (you see that when your driving anyway) to some old tunnels that take hours talking etc.

Apparently the chabad has a restaurant open from 10am to 10pm.
anyone been there?

We are planning on taking a tour during a long layover (DMZ is closed that day unfortunately) and the places we are going is nowhere near the chabad. they said they can put food in a taxi and have it delivered somewhere, but have no idea where to have it delivered.
Tour guide picks us up at 10am (arrive 930am) and drops us back at ICN at 230pm (4pm flight)
Anyone have any ideas on where chabad can have a taxi deliver us food? We are stopping at multiple locations in the Incheon area and wont be anywhere for a long period of time.

ETA: i think ill have them deliver to the Hyatt at ICN. They offer a shower service for Korean air first class pax and we can kill 2 birds with one stone.

With that said, if i have a 4pm flight KE F, what time should we be back at ICN? Wont have any bags to check. just need to clear security and dont plan to visit any lounge.

Yes. It's in the Chabad house dining room. Set up like a restaurant and like all chabad houses the hosts are extremely warm and sweet. Can get awkward for some if eating in. They don't get very many visitors.

Thanks. I think we will order food from them and have it delivered.
Any suggestions on what time to arrive back at ICN for a 4pm KE F flight without luggage?

I don't remember how the check-in experience was but I usually arrive 1 1/2 before with luggage and a child and don't recall being rushed.

Sounds about right. ICN is an efficient airport.

So apparently the JSA is closed due to escalated tensions. Still worth doing a DMZ tour, or is there a better way to spend a day in ICN?

We had an interesting tour guide, and therefore we enjoyed the tour. The itinerary itself is not very exciting without JSA, there was also quite a bit of waiting around time at many of the stops. The third tunnel was a real workout, both the incline and the fact that the clearance is very low, so you are climbing all bent out of shape with a hard hat on.

Seoul itself is a nice city, we were there for a few days, there are a bunch of palaces and gardens, one of them has daily changing of the guards and lively markets and shopping streets around town.

Having been to Japan 4 times, and finally reach Korea 6 months ago, it sure was nice change of pace.

I thought the DMZ was really cool even without the JSA. You still get to look into NK and go into a tunnel that NK dug into SK, and alot of other cool things. DM for pics
