The IRS gives it for free.
There is.
I just filled my 2014 personal return with TurboTax through this link:http://www.irs.gov/uac/Free-File:-Do-Your-Federal-Taxes-for-FreeI thought it might be helpful to others sharing my experience.First of all, as a New York State resident, it was free for both, the federal and state return. The process is extremely easy and intuitive. After completing the return I compared it with my last year's return (which was done by a tax professional) and I noticed one discrepancy: last year I qualified for the New York State Real Property Tax credit (totaled me $63 in refund) but TurboTax (without giving a reason) insisted that I don't qualify for the credit. So I just submitted my return and filled out form IT-214 online on the state's website http://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/efile/credit_webfile.htmThis year it added $32 to my refund. So overall it was an easy process, but you have to make sure you don't miss anything.
how did you file ny state, if the forms are not out yet?
Apparently they are out.
Just checked
Turbo tax
I did it last night. Not sure what you're doing wrong.
Staples has 15 off turbo tax
Just filed with TurboTax now, great and very informative.
Data point for TurboTax, my federal refund is in my account now through direct deposit. So about 10 days since I filed.
Woohoo! But also to consider is that you're filing earlier than the mad rush or April 15.
