As we all found out the deal was too good to be true.
However, has anyone had any luck getting free bags with the (expired) star alliance silver card from bmi on other airlines?
specifically UA and CO?

People have reported their accounts were never cancelled. Did you check yours?

DCA. It also got me a confirmed standby seat on a flight. Mind you, this was after they canceled a flight and everyone was fighting to get on it

Lounge access is restricted to Gold members and higher.

I recall seeing that BMI Silver members can access the BMI lounge. You probably need to be flying BMI though.

on United i got a refund for my luggage, and CO says that they see me as elite silver with bmi and ill be getting 2 free bags(flying in 2 weeks)

I got 2 free bags with US Airways flying from phl-phx so US definitely recognizes it. Not sure if this is a glitch or something but I had Aeroplan prestige(*Silver)in 2006-and all *A airlines that i flew since had me *S even though it expired in 02/07. I used it with US in the past, UA, and even continental post merge. I never used it with AC though-figured they would definitely catch on. But now I'm "legit" with BMI for this year.

ust wanted to let the masses know that the BMI accounts are still alive and kicking, contrary to the email they sent out advising that they will be canceled without verification of a wizo account.

The past few times i flew with united and used my BMI to get free bags, i showed my BMI card at check in. Is there a way to add the number to the UA reservation before i get to the airport and still earn the UA miles using my mileage plus #?

When i show the BMI card at the airport, they are always wondering why it wasn't added beforehand...

I have a similar question. If I add my US silver number to my res for choice seating, but I want to credit the flight to A3, will they let me switch it b4 I fly?

yep simply use your BMI # when you make the res then at the Gate or Club if you access ask that they switch it to your UA# or whatever Carrier you want.

then you will have to repeat it again after the flight credit has posted for the return, going back in and changing it back to BMI and then again after checking in have them at the Gate or Club change it to UA

What to do if the return is before the Outbound has posted, a good question, Id probably leave the UA # in the res and go thru the hassle at checkin

I did this when I was flyingon CO metal and wanted the EUA but wanted the EQMs to go to UA, I simply changed it at the Gate, for my return FC was soldout so I left UA in there
