The meal was served to us frozen solid.

Well DL served my biz meals PHX-ATL-JFK frozen too. I called to complain and they sent me 2 $50 GC to a host of choices. The tickets didn't cost much more than that ;).

You NYC folk are funny.  Bring a double sealed meal from any of the plethora of places for $20 and eat like a real mentch onboard.
Esp in business where an FA should heat it up without making a fuss.

The prepacked Shnitzel is usually way better than any of those crap meals.

Just flew back from HNL to EWR on United First Class.  Was served cold shnitzel for dinner with some vegetables - was absolutely disgusting.  For breakfast we got some sort of pasta with cheese inside.  That was heated up and was a bit more palatable.  In short, food was terribly disappointing.

If you're in F try to BYOF, why not order the Pomegranate meals?
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

Is there a problem bringing Pomegranate meals on the airplane through security?  We were thinking of buying some but Mrs. PBaruch was concerned that we would not be allowed to bring them through security and would have to throw them out.

Dan does it all the time, I personally haven't done Pomegranate, but we always bring food with us. If you order for the plane they aren't going to send soup. You should be fine.

Thanks.  Its good to know.  We'll definitely try that next time.

What if you don't happen to be flying in F.  Will they still warm up the meals for you?

Seems like a YMMV but don't count on it.

Why would there be a security issue with food???????
And most FAs will heat it up for you, esp if they see how bad/frozen the KSML is or if there is no KSML.

CX is the strictest but if you ask them to try eating a frozen KSML even they may relent.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Dunno - but with liquids, sauces, etc. in a sealed package we were concerned that TSA might make us dump it.  I've read lots of weird stories about TSA folks making people throw out all sorts of things.

Thanks for the tip though.  Next time we fly I will definitely purchase some Pomegranate meals to take along.
