This may be a stupid question, but when flying in business class, how is the ksml served? If served on china, is that kosher?

I've had some Bangkok meals and some Stogel shelf life meals and while the Bangkok meals may not have been 5 star, they were significantly better than Stogel.

+1. Not even comparable despite the BKK meals being even worse than US KSMLs.
Wouldn't feed Stogel long life to a dog.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

So I guess we'll agree to disagree. Not 5 star? Lol. There arent too many things in that meal that you can actually put in your mouth and swallow. 0 stars

If theres china, it's wrapped in the meal and is brand new. But just because you are in Business, or even First for that matter, doesn't necessarily mean you will get that. Many times its all plastic.

Obviously. Since when do you feed cat food to dogs?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

So basically the airline never uses their own China- it comes directly from kosher caterer?

China from airline wouldn’t be kosher?

Thank you!

Mentioned it a few times.

Free upgrade to business on next ticket. They gave him a case number and told him to give it to a CSR after he booked a flight in order to get upgraded. He flew JFK-IST-TLV and back business.
Very nice.  It never hurts to ask. Thanks.

It usually belongs to the airline. The airline provides new dishes to the caterer who plates on it, and afterwards it goes into the regular supply.

How exactly can I confirm where it’s coming from and that it’s kosher? Do I just ask the fa?

If it's Kosher, it'll be wrapped by the caterer and sealed with a Hechsher.

I'm sure different caterers and different airlines have different arrangements but I think Hermolis gets new BA dishes and cutlery with BA branding shipped to them and they package it in their BA meals. After you've eaten it just goes back into the airlines main kitchens.

The food is already plated on it and sealed

Same with LH AFAIK.
