Anyone know if possible to get KSML on Virgin America FC JFK-LAX route? When I called, the Rep directed me to the website where it mentions Kosher meals in a blog post but not the actual menu option.

Airline: LH
Class: Y
Route: FRA-PVG
Caterer: Sohar
Flight date: 07/20/15.
Meal in pics: Dinner

The salmon/olive/beet starter was excellent.  The main was fine but I only ate the fish as the pasta itself was very bland.

The pasta with fish was a bit strange to have for breakfast but it was quite good.  The portion size looks small since half of it ended up in my lap before i took the photo.

A bunch of random sites, wikis, youtube, etc.  There is a youtube video that I wish I had the link on hand for right now, but it was for JewishTV or something like that.  In any case the presenter was basically selling Koscher meals as "first class meals for coach".

I'm guessing by your response that you don't agree with that statement?

EDIT:  I found the link, and it's on the JewishNewsOne channel actually.  www.youtube.com/watch?v=zllfP2G7tBo
Great. in this video it shows ppl wanting to order kosher meals on planes and it comes with a 'stamp' or 'sticket' saying it's verified by the rabbi. WHO'S THIS RABBI?  How do I know it's a legit rabbi??  I am flying 3 different planes, klm, delta, and alitalia. I have no idea i I can eat the kosher meals.  Anyone one orthodox on this thread can help me get an answer?  Ive never flown them before.

I have a business flight on AA from Calgary Canada to Dallas and Dallas to Philadelphia. They said they are serving breakfast on first and lunch on second flight. They said they cannot provide kosher meals. I asked for a food voucher and they refused. They were not helpful.
I will be leaving 6 am and have a 2 hour stop over in Dallas. I wont be in Philadelphia till 6 pm.
Does anyone have advice for me how to deal with AA? and is it possible for me to get a food voucher? Is it possible to get meals when they "claim" they cannot?
Thanks

I've never had luck with getting a KSML when it wasn't officially offered. The best I was able to do was to bring my own food on board, and when the FA would offer me a ham and mozzarella sandwich, politely ask for a set of disposable utensils instead.

Why should they be required to give you vouchers or anything when kosher meals are not provided in the first place?

How far in advance is it necessary to order kosher for F in CX ex-JFK?
Also, is there a difference between Kosher meals in J & F on CX ex-JFK?
(For someone currently booked J and trying to get F on same or another flight, might need to wait till last-minute for F to open up... Trying to figure out best way to "guaranty" a KSML FWIW)

You usually need 24hrs but they would give you your J class food if you upgrade to F. and the food is the same just set up nicer.

I always wondered why can't they make better food for people in J or the very least when you fly in F?

Those aren't special meal markets for AA, KSML or otherwise.  AA its longhaul intl, JFK-LAX/SFO and MIA-LAX, and a few ~5 hour Latam markets.  Canada, for the past 10-12 years hasn't been part of SPMLs, although until last year I believe YYZ-LAX might have been (as it catered to AA elevated transcon standard) but certainly not now.
