Almost. The main course is in foil containers and a sealed plate provided which can be put in their oven to be hot. Yuyo can either plate it yourself by tipping out the foil containers onto the plate (probably preferable kashrus-wise) or get them to plate it for you (reminding them that they must only use the utensils from the kosher pack, of which there are ample).
Nice! That's got to be the best all-around KSML experience offered by any airline. It's a shame more airlines can't do something similar, especially in F.

Yes, this is how I asked them to do it. I didn't think of asking them to do it in my seat. Not only is that probably an invitation to a mess, it would be uncomfortable to sit there while they did it over my lap.

Airline and class: Norwegian (UK) Air Shuttle, Premium
Route: LGW-LAX
Caterer: Hermolis
Flight date: July 28, 2019
Meal in pics: Lunch/Lunch
Rating: 7.5, 5.5

First meal served around 4pm, didn't realize there was a hot entree and mostly filled up on the other items, including a surprisingly tasty cold beef salad. The rest was a little too cold/soggy, like the vegetables. The chocolate cake had an orange undertaste to it and I didn't love that. I only had a bite of the duck with Shanghai noodles as I was already full, but it tasted pretty good. Overall I'd give it a 7.5, especially since this wasn't a true business class meal (even though "Premium" is the highest class on this flight).

Second meal was delivered before landing, at around 4pm local time but midnight at originating destination. It came with warm rolls that were delicious, but wish they'd included some jam or cream cheese to put on it. Instead they included ketchup which is totally weird given the selection. There were two halves of a tuna on a bagel which wasn't great, as the bagel was cold and hard and the tuna almost invisible. There was a half a bagel with smoked salmon that was better, but again could have been improved with some cream cheese. The cake was ok but not outstanding.

If this was a business class Hermolis meal I would have been disappointed; if Economy I would have been thrilled. So I guess since it was Premium it fits perfectly. :P Pics are here: https://imgur.com/a/EDx0LTX

Never when talking about KSMLs, but it'll probably be Borenstein.

I'm flying JAL NRT-MEL J.  Does anyone know what meals we will be getting?  We fly a lot (and LOVED QF from MEL-HND) and the kids are picky.  Better to take meals from home (in Tokyo) or brave the food?
So I report back after the first leg of the trip (JAL J NRT-MEL).  We got weirdly salty (presumably from the chemical dip to keep the fruit fresh looking) fruit plates for the kids with melon, apples, grapes, mango, pineapple, bananas, kiwi.  The kids still didn't eat much of it.

The adults got Stoegel frozen/fresh meals!  For lunch, salmon, rice, carrots and peas, a slaw with maybe kohlrabi and carrots(?), mezonos roll, margarine, a candy, and chocolate cake and fruit (grapefruit and orange).  For dinner, an omelette with mushroom sauce, a chocolate rugelach pastry, melba toast, the mezonos roll, jam, cheese, margarine, couscous (maybe!), and grapefruit and mandarine oranges in fruit juice.

Overall, the kosher meals were pretty OK.  My husband liked the salmon more than the omelette and I liked the omelette more than the salmon (and my daughter ate most of the omelette!).

We still ate our many (tehina, peanut butter and jelly, scrambled egg) sandwiches and my favorite mini grapes from Japan.

Now we are in MEL for a week and hope the meals are yummy going back to NRT.  Thank you everyone!
