I flew F same route and got regular Borenstein meal. It's very decent, but nothing over the top.

Really good Borenstein meal from JFK-FCO on Alitalia! And really good meal on a 3 hr flight on Alitalia from FCO-TLV (the meal was from a caterer in Amsterdam)

Just flew HKG-BKK on CX J and got Hermolis meal. Was actually pretty good. For the main dish they had a choice of either Potatoes & Ratatouille or Stir Fried Lamb. They bough both out to me so I got to try both. The Ratatouille had almost no flavoring but the Stir Fried Lamb was quite good.

The sad part is that there was more food on this tray on this 2.5 hr flight than there was on my ORD-HKG flight.

Yup. Now I know. The lamb was very tasty and had plenty of meat in it. Maybe some of those other caterers should take some lessons from Hermolis

Did you get a meal in the lounge also?
Hermolis charges $$$$ for their meals.

For the AA one AA rep can actually request it, or just PUTPAC cathay and they can find them. I called and gave them my AA confirmation and they found it right away

Non-KSML is mostly a fixed cost business, airlines like UA own their own catering service.
KSML is variable cost, hence why it's sent out to the lowest bidder.

Call the investor relations of the airline or even the SEC that you are displeased with this method of accounting for the food cost.

How do you know if you can drink a coke on intl flights? Especially ones that don't depart or arrive at USA or TLV?
