What exactly is going on in Turkey? And in answer to your question, because I got tickets for around $700 RT.

Erdogan.  I wouldn't fly Turkish if you paid me.

If you don't want to fly with them, that's your prerogative but Erdogan doesn't own Turkish Airlines and, as I have commented in other threads, not flying Turkish doesn't hurt Erdogan or Turkey. In fact, if you choose to not fly to Israel because you can't afford anything more expensive than Turkish, you are actually hurting Israel more than Turkey. Israel's main source of income is tourism and by not flying there, you are depriving them of that income source. Of course, some may choose to fly other airlines and pay more, and so long as that doesn't change how much you spend while in Israel, that's fine. I personally want to go to Israel with my family and am unable to afford it unless I get it at a serious discount. I don't understand what "boycotting" Turkish Airlines does to make anyone feel better about Erdogan.

If you have to pay to fly to Israel you are already doing it all wrong.

:) I hear you, but not everyone has time or energy to do things the DansDeals way. All of my credit cards are transferable to cash at rates that usually are better than travel redemption (obviously through brokers) and I don't have the need to travel that much so I am not taking on the "credit card" lifestyle just to stick it to Erdogan :)

I stand corrected. I should have said that tourism is a major contributor to the economy. While it hovers around 5% of GDP and that sounds like a small number, it is not.

anyone familiar with the hashgacha on Alitalia J meals out of Rome, currently?  Last time I flew, it was a French hashgacha I wasn't familiar with.
