Has anyone ever spent a prolonged amount of time living in Haifa?

My wife and I are moving there for one year. If you have any insight/ideas/advice on frum life and life there in general, please share!

I know of people attending Technion that live in Bnei Brak/Ramat Gan and take the train to Haifa.

Would anyone here be interested in sharing a 6-8 hour jeep tour of the Golan on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 01/14-01/16? It's about $450 for a jeep for up to 7 people and we're only 2 so we can accommodate up to 5 more.

There is a hotel in Tiberias called continental it is quite cheap but you kind of get what you pay for.
