if you sign in with a galaxy you will get the 50gb for two years even on a existing account
What's the plan for people that have all their files and pictures after 2 years?

Dropbox is worth its weight in gold, and after two years you pony up :)
They are also offering all kinds of freebies all the time, and if you get a new device you get more free space.

Just use Skydrive. They give you 7gb in the basic-free-no-referrals-needed package.

It doesn't matter because Dropbox is by far the best.

Watch dropbox facebook for promotions.  They did the dropbox mystery quest last year.  Took about 3 hours but I got 30GB of extra storage permanently.

Also, check out BTSync http://labs.bittorrent.com/experiments/sync.html.  I still use dropbox constantly for files I need everywhere all the time but BTSync is awesome for backup and basic sync especially to your phone.  I have it set up so that all my movies and pics taken on my phone automatically sync to my home server (unlike dropbox where every device I have would then constantly be updating with all the new huge files).  Additionally, I have it set up so that any files I need on my phone just get dropped into a folder on my desktop and boom, they're on my phone but not everywhere else where I don't need them.

EDIT: Oh I forgot, at least on Android you can set it to only sync on wifi and it's super fast!  I average 1.8MB/s because it uses the bit torrent protocol.

Any recent ways to get more space? I've done basically every tip on their "get more space" page besides referring ppl, and I'm only at 6GB.

Google Adwords. I maxed out the referrals, and now i have 18gb. However, it does cost a bit.

Yeah, looking for something easier/cheaper. I feel like so many people have an insane amount of space and never paid a dime.

It only cost me $25, since I found a $75 for $25 promo code online. Besides, you can also use it for Uber referrals, and that's probably worth a lot more.

ETA: This is where I got the idea from. It's an old article, and some info is outdated, but the idea is there.

Why don't you want to refer people?

I don't want to bother my friends. But I like this AdWords idea.

AFAIK, there's no way to get for free unless you pay for web hosting and the provider gives some credit. The $75 free promo codes don't seem to exist anymore. I even called Google to ask if they have any promo codes, and they said they can't give me anything for free.

That's what I was going to do. Worst case, I found $100 for $25 coupons so I could use that. $25 is worth it. I'm eligible for 16 more GB.

I just googled AdWords vouchers or something like that and a few articles had lists of the different coupons available. I didn't actually check if they work though.
