SVO - Starwood Vacation Ownership
« on: December 31, 2014, 08:53:51 AM »
Was recently contacted via email by spg with an incredible offer. $319 for 5 days and 4 nights at the Westin Lagunmar in Cancun. For participating in the offer I also receive 5,000 spg points.
Supposedly this is a "timeshare", but there are no further obligations once I pay the $319. All taxes and fees included in that price.

Anybody receive a similar offer from either this property or from spg in general?

You'll have to sit through their shpiel.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

that is if you are over 50, have 3 grandchildren, make $25m+ a year, own a house, and considering to own a boat. :D
there are so many qualifications with these things. even if you get an offer doesnt mean you will be approved

It is ridiculously easy to get approved for. While I cant speak for others I have been offered these a bunch of times and never got denied, and I can assure you I am not  the person they are attempting to target

Can you pick the nights?

Anyway to signup for this offer, or must be targeted?

I asked 100 times if there was any type of seminar I needed to attend- the rep kept telling me that I would have the option of attending since it would be available at the location, but there was no necessity for me to do so. They told me I can pick any dates in 2015.
Rep told me it was a targeted offer and that they are non-transferable.

Still- $319 or 4 nights is a pretty good deal in a studio villa with kitchenette.

So go for it what are you waiting for? Just make sure you have everything in your email what they tell you.

I did. I didn't even have to pick dates yet- they asked for a $200 deposit and I can call back in several months and pick any date throughout 2015.

Good for you, is the deposit refundable?

Was fine and was worth it. Your only issues are your time to travel and your airfare abilities.......
