alitalia bankruptcy
« on: September 04, 2008, 04:37:23 AM »
Hi everyone
I was trying to get an Alitalia ticket because I need to go to Rome right after I get back from NYC in November.

But they're going bankrupt and I figured it's worth it to just try and get a separate ticket rather than lose my ticket in a month or two (which is a great possibility considering Alitalia will greatly downsize and split into two companies)

so be warned:  don't buy alitalia, even thoughit's pretty cheap right now unless ur only going for a week or something

Did anyone hear that Alitalia might be going bankrupt? I just heard and wondering what will happen to the tickets we bought for Pesach...I'm assuming even if they do go bankrupt they will still have to put everyone on to different flights..no?

Bankrupt means they can't meet their obligations.

I bought a ticket from NYC-TLV with a stop in Paris (Delta-AF) on the way going and the way back is a stop in Rome with Alitalia and the Delta part from Rome to EWR is operated by Alitalia. I got it on Orbitz on Mo"sh for 706.

Nothing is going to happen when they go bankrupt.
Many many airlines went bankrupt, and didn't cancel even a single scheduled flight.

ALITALIA Strong rumors regarding BANKRUPTCY !!
« Reply #12 on: January 02, 2013, 06:53:02 AM »
I bought 30 tickets for a family wedding in NY, with the25% off promo code, leaving Israel on JAN 23.
And I now hear strong and solid rumors that they are going bankrupt.

Does anyone know more details? Air France is buying them off?
And what we can do about it?

Bankruptcy protection doesn't mean they stop flying .
