Basically, Chaikel and AsherO were anointed Global Moderators by the great Dan.
While many of DDF'ers are happy for them, most of them are jealous and would like to be Mods themselves.

What is the difference between a Mod and a regular user? Why are so many DDF'ers jealous?
Well, it is confirmed at this point that becoming a Mod grants you the ability to request from Dan to change the color of your stars and name.
