Additional members get shipping upgrades only.
Each Prime account can have 4 additional family members associated with it.
Amazon adds bennies to prime accounts so this list may change - feel free to update the wiki if you discover new information.

To add yourself to an account: You need to provide the original member with your name, email and month/date of birth.  Do this via PM.
The member will respond back with the info you need to complete your signup.

When signing up with someone, make sure you know how long the prime membership will last first, to avoid any misunderstandings.

As always, exercise caution when dealing with strangers on the internet

You may also want to check if Amazon charges tax in your state before you make up a price.  >:(

henche's family method
Split the main prime membership with your siblings and cousins. You share passwords and just need to remember to charge the correct cc and ship to the correct address. This way you can all use the video streaming also.  (privacy alert)

I'd like to join a shared account or start one if we have 3-4 people?
Shared accounts don't work anymore really.
I'm not who you think I am.

I have one spot available but I don't know how it works.
It is grandfathered, which means nobody can see anyone else's ordered items... but since then, one person backed out and now there's an open spot. What happens if I add someone now?

The million dollar question: Can you modify a grandfathered account and retain grandfathered status. Please let us know if you try.

I won't try because I have others on my account so I don't wanna risk it on their behalf. Looking for someone who has done it :)

Need a prime account for Wholefoods discounts. Don't need.it for shipping of goods. Does this simplify sharing?

It's it possible to double dip?
I.e. Share with 4 offers AND add family members?
Just spent a while 70+ minutes on the phone with Amazon trying to get a definite answer to this. I think I spoke with reps from 3 continents along the way (one was South African, the other two probably from the US and Asia).

It took such a long time until the reps could fathom what I was talking about - I guess the shared Prime option is very rare nowadays. In the end, he's reached out to the developers and they will hopefully let him know if I can have my cake and eat it too. I shall update y'all.
