Each Prime account can have 4 additional family members associated with it.
Amazon adds bennies to prime accounts so this list may change - feel free to update the wiki if you discover new information.

To add yourself to an account: You need to provide the original member with your name, email and month/date of birth.  Do this via PM.
The member will respond back with the info you need to complete your signup.

When signing up with someone, make sure you know how long the prime membership will last first, to avoid any misunderstandings.

As always, exercise caution when dealing with strangers on the internet

You may also want to check if Amazon charges tax in your state before you make up a price.  >:(

henche's family method
Split the main prime membership with your siblings and cousins. You share passwords and just need to remember to charge the correct cc and ship to the correct address. This way you can all use the video streaming also.  (privacy alert)

The process is simple.  When someone had a prime account they can invite other people to "share" the prime membership.
Everyone maintains separate Amazon accounts.  You are supposed to be related so they do ask for the primary prime members birthday for verification and then the sharing accounts need to confirm that birthday.

Nope, one person has to pay $79 and then get 4 other people to chip-in via paypal or google checkout.

Why can't one person sign up for the account and give the account login info to all his friends. Then, they all can use the account and just change the shipping address/payment for each purchase

Bec. thats the more complicated way to do things. Once someone puts their cc info in, it stays there by default until it is changed manually. If someone is cancelling their order, they may cancel their friends order by mistake. And then all the receips/shipping notification emails will only go to one email address.

What would be the advantage of that method? It wouldn't even save any money?
