This just happened to my friend-
His wife was staying at a Hyatt hotel with her friend and some of their kids for two nights.
The first night they had to call hotel security at 3:00 AM to remove a drunken man who was pounding the walls outside their room. But that was just a taste of what's to come.
The next day at 6 PM they were at the pool with the young kids while three 13 year old kids ran up to get some towels. Suddenly the fire alarm went off. Everyone ran for the door and for a while it was chaos and no one seemed in control of the hotel. When things finally calmed down and no fire to be found, they went back to the pool but a uniformed woman with no badge or ID confronted them and demanded they go back to their room. A passing hotel employee asked her why but she insisted.
Back at their room the hotel manager knocked on the door with the uniformed lady behind her. She told them they were being ejected from the hotel (about 8 PM). When asked for a reason she was told that one of the children had set off the fire alarm. The manager said they had it clearly on video but when asked to see it said it was hotel policy not to allow the video to be seen. So she asked which child had pulled the alarm. They looked uncertain but finally pointed to the shorter girl. The girl insisted it was not true. They responded that they aren't leaving the hotel until the see the video.
A while later, there was another knock on the door. This time the manager had brought FIVE police officers. The police informed them that they need to leave the premises, this time giving the reason that their 7 year old children were not being watched at all times by the parents. My friend's wife, furious, told them that they were not 7, they were all over 12 and just went to get a towel from the room for crying out loud.
One of the police officers told her that if he was her, he'd be furious, and then told the hotel manager that the police have better things to do at 12 AM in a big city. The manager finally relented and admitted that they never saw the kid pull the alarm.
They let them stay.
