I get it - I was seeing if there is anyway to protect myself if Israel still wont let me in on Oct. 20-25. There is United Business available for $2270 which is great - but if I end up getting an ETC and when I am finaly able to go Business is very expensive then I will fly Economy Plus which is much less.

I think you mean premium economy, but understand what you are saying. Assuming you can get in within a year!

Could someone explain this???

World Nomad sells a "standard" and "explorer" policy. As per this, the former covers trekking up to 6000m, and the latter up to 7000m. However nowhere in the policy itself (standard, explorer) is trekking or altitude mentioned, nor any specific limit given.

Squaremouth has a filter option for Sports>Kilimanjaro that supposedly covers high-altitude trekking. Here again the actual policy says nothing of the sort, except for a coverage exclusion for "mountain climbing that requires the use of equipment such as; pickaxes <SNIP>", which doesn't apply to Kili.

Does all this mean that any policy that doesn't explicitly exclude high-altitude trekking actually covers it? If so how is World Nomad selling essentially the exact same policy for supposedly different altitude limits?

None of this makes any sense.

So apparently once you buy the World Nomads policy you get a longer policy description which specifically states that "Expeditions (Multi-day trekking or mountaineering under 6,000m)" is covered.

Beyond dumb that this info is not available when shopping ::).

I have found that to be more of a phenomenon with non-US Based providers.

PM sent with another option.

There are plenty of policies that will cover you for non-remibursable prepaid costs for covered reasons. It is always best to purchase the policy shortly after initial deposit is given, as you get the best options of coverage at that point.

From which state?

What's the maximum coverage you need/want?

Do you need pre-existing conditions coverage?

Ages of travelers?
