From my research they are seemingly asking for your residence. Since it's insurance and potentially a lot of money at stake I can't see how anyone could take a chance.

Some limit it by residence, while some will only limit it by the place you are physically located at time of purchase.

It is simply due to the fact the the company or product might not be approved for sale in NY (due to NY stringent regulations). From what I understand NY regulations make insurance products much less profitable. I am sure @yos9694 can shed more light on this.

If my tickets are milage how do I put a value on them? The cost price if they were not mileage?

What are you looking to protect?

The "cost of trip" is generally the cost of any non-refundable prepaid expenses. Some plans allow inputting $0 cost, some will require a cost and are usually priced in bands, so often the cost of the plan will be the same whether you enter $1 as the cost or $199 (common bands I have seen are at $200 or $500 increments). Some plans have coverage for mileage redeposit fees.

Which country? Someone just recommended this to me. I got nice premiums and cheap quotes. They also have good ratings.
