If someone books a flight for me to Israel with their sapphire reserve card. Is there any benefit to getting a travel insurance plan aside from a higher insurance coverage amount? Specifically asking about medical insurance.

You won't get anything unless you are an immediate relative, child under 23, ( I believe that's the age)

it has to be both immediate family and under 23? It's my brothers card. That's good?

You generally aren't covered unless you're an immediate relative of the card holder as indicated in the terms and conditions of the coverage. This may be circumventable by having them add you as an authorized user prior to booking. Read T&Cs carefully to verify that this suffices to have you covered. Regardless, travel medical insurance is generally a good idea. The amounts covered by credit card insurance is pitifully low.

Did you file with IMG?

Even when a provider shows as "In-Network" one often needs to file the claim and provide additional documentation, as additional information beyond the hospital bill will often be needed in order to approve the claim.

I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Hi, any recommendations for trip cancellation insurance for a Canadian? If the reservation is made with a US credit card, will it cover a Canadian resident traveling from and back to Canada? Also, is there a DDMS post about the different CC travel insurance coverages? Thanks.
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Hi DDF!

Hope all is well!  I am planning a large family trip, around 15 people and I want to buy a trip travel insurance.  Is there an insurance that will cover this many people and that will cover the airfare, airbnb reservations, car rentals in the event that one of us is sick and the whole trip needs to be cancelled.

I can bump the insured size to 10 ppl if that makes it easier to find coverage.   Does the insurance cover on a per person basis or they can cover the group as a whole.  I.E. if one of us is sick, and the rest of the family decides they doesn't want to go, would we be able to get the money back from the company?

Are they any recommendations for insurance companies that I can reach out to, or ones that you've had a good experience with when making claims.

The trip will be within USA, and my group age varies from 2yrs to 92yrs

Thank you!

I am looking to purchase travel insurance for a pre-existing medical issue. Which plans and providers are recommended? The flight was booked this week.

Look on insuremytrip or squaremouth and choose your options. There isn't one specific answer to your question.

Yes up to $2500 if it's an emergency.

Another question. I booked my full trip through ultimate rewards (CSR) is it recommended to get additional health insurance for travel?
