We have tickets to Israel for December and we are getting nervous about the situation there. We put our tickets on the Ink card. Do they cover cancellation for that? If not, is there insurance that will cover cancellation if the situation gets worse?

I agree, but that is not helpful. Other people will not want to go if it gets worse/war breaks out, so I am looking for insurance that will cover us.

Interesting. I always wondered if that was a backup cancellation option for non refundable tickets, and what card I could do that on. (But seriously, you're scared about the safety there?)

Travel Guard, recently changed their policies, and long term policies (6-12 Mo.) became extremely extremely expensive. Is there any other company that allows long term policies (6-12 Mo.) for a decent price?

We have two young kids. It is scary to go, especially if the situation escalates even more

Got back from Israel recently, purchased insurance through Roam Right.
As per this thread http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=55807.0
i had issue with my babies passport expiring after one year and only realized in airport (motzei yom kippur 90 min before flight to israel that had two stopovers). long story short we left baby behind and changed myself, wife and toddler to come home chal hamoed. Tickets were booked with miles.

any chance i get compensated? my daughter also had an ear infection, is that a better angle? what is the best way for me to go about this?

thanks

How will you ask for compensation, that you forgot to get your daughter a proper passport, so they should compensate you ?! They'll laugh in your face !!!
If your daughter had a legitimate infection, then your only chance is a letter from the doctor that she couldn't  fly.

if you read the thread that I linked, you would see that many experts were shocked that her passport wasn't for 5 years and never heard of a baby not getting 5 years, hence I didn't forget I just didn't check as it wasn't a question in my mind that it would be for 5 years.

Still I hear why it's a stretch

I filed a claim with Allianz, for a broken suitcase.
They need documentation that the airline doesn't want to pay for it.
My problem is that UA doesn't reimburse damages to baggage, so there isn't even an option to file said claim. Anything else I can do to get reimbursed ?

I guess show them the web page where it says that. Or an email with customer service who says so..

I am using squaremouth to try to get a quote on travel insurance. Primarily looking for medical coverage and life coverage.

I can't seem to find any policies that DON'T exclude acts of war, hostilities, civil war, etc.

I.e. If when traveling to Israel anything happens due to Palestinian violence, it seems coverage would be excluded. Anyone have a policy or company they know of that will cover this?

Correct, I don't care about trip cancellation. I know the odds are remote of being attacked in Israel, but it's at least more elevated than normal and that's the whole point of this coverage.  So just trying to play it safe and pay $20-60 or so for all contingencies.

Also I tried the chat support and they couldn't figure it out either, and suggested I call company by company to see if they have riders. Seems very labor intensive.

I now recall I was able to get this kind of coverage for under $100 through insuremytrip.com in the past, but I went there today and they don't offer it anymore. It's a Global Underwriters Diplomat International plan with a War Rider, but I went to their site directly and was quoted over $250. Not worth it.

If anyone has any other ideas, please LMK.

Anyone have any recent experience with American Express Travel Insurance?  Specifically the medical coverage.

Prices are very decent.

Thanks

Do any of these cover if you just are not able to make the trip? But not for something serious... E.G. wedding work etc.
