I strongly recommend World Nomads - http://www.worldnomads.com/

They are cheap, easy to use, simple to extend and cover you for bungee and the like....

For Israel the best insurance I found is MediGuard http://www.mediguardtravel.com/ . They will pay for medical stuff on the spot as opposed to you paying yourself and submitting a claim to get reimbursed.

Does anyone know a good baggage insurance? I often have stuff that is pretty expensive in my luggage, and I am always scared about it getting lost and being handed a few hundred measly bucks.

That's not bad but it's for luggage only. I was looking for emergency health which includes a bunch of other benefits (luggage, delays, medical evac. etc..)

Didn't know if I should start a new post. Flying FC from Seattle to New York on mileage and need to bring $10K worth of Elecronics back with me. Like 125 pounds worth so it would cost me a pretty penny to ship UPS insured from coast to coast. Besides the shlep of finding some UPS store, packing it...since I'm just flying in for the day. Contacted https://www295.americanexpress.com/travel-insurance/home.do#99 and they said they have Platinum plan that would cover me on mileage ticket up to $2500. Would just bring 3 suitcases and stick them in there and have the convenience of bringing home with me, but short on coverage.

What would you do? Ship UPS insured? Buy more travel insurance? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Don't know of any offhand. If there is such a thing I imagine it would be pricey. But I commend you for being responsible about it. Let us know if you find anything.

I checked basically every company that i could find and the only one that seemed to be wiling to talk to me was IHI Bupa. I got them through Egert & Cohen Insurance. I dealt with Chani Ackerman ext. 108, but it was a reimbursement plan which stinks bec. u have no way of knowing if they'll actually cover

I got the policy through egert but they told me to first try contacting ihi on my own and see how it goes. There was no need for me to call egert back as ihi was a pleasure to deal with.

Wow that's great info, I had heard of them but didn't know what their customer service is like.

I came across several reasonably priced polices that cover complications of pregnancy but not actual birth while traveling. I'm still trying to figure out if that is what I should be looking for.

Also trying to figure out if AMEX travel insurance is what I need. When I last spoke to them I was told that they cover pregnancy but not complications of pregnancy. Anyone have any idea what a policy for pregnancy should cover?

Ihi doesn't cover birth either, they only cover up to the 9th month.
