so dan is there any feasible way to do this?
Besides for opening up a new board with a thread for every kosher restaurant in the world I'm not really sure how to implement that.

Not that I'm opposed to that idea, but it will get pretty cluttered I'd imagine.

In the wiki everyone could add a / then a rating and eventually we can average them all together. So it would look something like

Mike's Bistro, NYC, 9.25/9/8.75
Le Marais, NYC, 9/10/7

etc... until they are averaged and added to the OP.

Maybe add your username to the rating. Either way it can be seen in the wiki edited history I think.

is basically telling the entire world to never post another opinion, because it might turn out wrong in the future.
Not really.  I'm not sure how you didn't see the difference between your comments on this thread and yare's before the explanations were given.

If we were to do that, the # should have a handle next to it.

I had an idea. Find a site that supports ratings. Link to site from the wiki. Mikomos used to be a possibility, not anymore though.

Why cant we start a poll with say 50 questions (restaurant names) and each one will have a choice of ten answers ( numbers 1-10)?

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of Dans opinion? Why not leave them separate ?

Its a great idea and I'm all for it.  But it still wont be perfect because every one will be posting about their dish they ate..it couldve been the best/worst dish on their menu which would bring down/up the average alot.
It's not about the quantity of your posts.  It's about the quality.

Agreed. I meant Dan's ratings will stay, but add the average user ranking also.

My comments that warranted his statement were

I just don't understand why all this work is put in to upgrade the wiki of a personal, limited list, when it could be updating wikis that are far more useful.

The posters explained, shalom al yisrael. No need to tell me never to post another thought again.

@Yuneeq Aside from your quote. It is always hard to read a persons expression when saying something online. It seemed like you were annoyed with this thread idea. Partially based on.
Not really. No offense to Dan, but I don't feel like contributing too much to a personal list.
Hence, why I feel that updating the wiki is a waste of time.

Regardless we both made are points, let's move on.

+1
I was asked to do a wiki, so I gave my opinion why not. Yare was the first one to articulate what I felt, so I agreed. I then stated my own opinion and got shot down faster than a Syrian Air Force pilot. I don't mind that, but I do mind censorship.

Btw, I actually like the thread, unlike what others may think.

ETA: I apologize for starting the flame war (even if Dan thinks it wasn't one), may it never happen again in our times :)

jj1000 said it the best, online its hard to see expression, if you didnt mean it that way then great! jj1000 back to sleding and unique back to waffles in bed

why not just create a poll with 10 clicks available?
If you have any questions please search and then ask. PM me for detailed help.

1. It's in the 50's 60's!!! More like sun bathing :) and 2. You'd need a poll for every restaurant with 10 options each poll. It'd be a nightmare.

You could do that with Google Forms as well. Multiple questions (restaurants) with a scale of 1-10. Only problem is, it would be an external link, not embedded into the forums.

See my other thread and let me know what you think. I'll need a full list of options before I finish creating the poll.

I have a couple ideas for a rating system.  Give me a few days to work on 'em.
