United Airlines question?
« on: January 30, 2013, 10:05:03 AM »
I know united allows same day changes (or standby) for $75. Do they allow me to standby a day earlier?

Example: I have 2 tickets for ewr-Tlv for Feb 12 10:50 I want to go on the 11th at the 3:50 flight instead. It is outside of the 24-hour window, will they still allow me to go on standby? I did a search and they are showing as of now there are at least 18 seats available? (http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightAvailability/flightAvailability.do)

How many seats do you think need to be available for me to have good odds of getting on standby?

Thank You

Is it true that you can't book

TLV - ZRH(J)
ZRH - FRA(J)
FRA - DTW(F)

In a RT ticket.

They keep telling me I can't combine a "F" TATL segment in a RT "J" booking.

That's not a RT ticket.
Also you can combine in a RT ticket but you'll be priced out in F for that whole one way.

That's not a RT ticket.
The route will be (for asking purposes)
EWR-TLV(J)
TLV-ZRH(J)
ZRH-FRA(J)
FRA-DTW(F)
DTW-EWR(Y)

Book the EWR-TLV on a separate reservation, so that it prices as biz.

You can definitely combine the rest as one itinerary and price it as an F ticket.
Love me or hate me. I still love you.

The EWR-TLV actually has a SO in it.

They said they can't ticket a LH F segment if there is LH J segment on the same way. Something about contracts etc. (BS)

So I ended up just routing through BRU to FRA and it price out correctly.

My dad wants to book a CLE - TLV flight, but when logged into his account (w/ a linked club card), there is no return option.
When logged into my account (linked Explorer card), it show a return option routing through Germany. But my account is in deficit, and I have no UR.

Anyway I can book this using his miles? Is this happening b/c I have the Explorer card linked?

Either go to Multi city and put in the legs separate or PUTPAC.

A linked card can result in more standard availability. In you're account, are you seeing saver or standard?

Nada from my 1K account. At least with that search and without digging deeper and searching leg by leg..

TLV-ORD comes up for me.
Just a matter of having the ESD call you to book it.
