I think the word you're looking for is "rip" not burn. And yes, if you have a drive connected to a computer, you could copy the contents of the media on to it (depending on how protected the media is).
no. well, not one that can be used. i have some study cd/dvds which i want to use but would prefer to burn them onto the mini
What you might need is CD image mounting software which basically makes a virtual copy of the CD on your computer, which can then be read on a "virtual drive", meaning that you don't really have to have the CD or the drive present. This works best with software CD's. For music or videos, it is easier to rip them to a simple format (.mp3 .avi etc.) and save them on your computer like that.
