But seriously Israel is one of the only places I know that still has kids running around outside all day and gives children the freedom to go places themselves while still being surrounded by a frum environment.

A friend of mine just got a job being a personal michanech for a family living on a pistachio farm

If he starts a frum community and brings out more families I'll let you know

I don't think the lack of chinuch in manners and middos comes from having that freedom but I do agree that it seems to be a bigger issue in Israel which is why I have such a hard time deciding to move there. There are many negatives as well.

+1. This comes along with some frightening behaviors.

I remember walking through the old city once and getting caught in the crossfire of some frum kids having a rock fight. These were not pebbles, they were CHUNKS of concrete and they were hurling them at each other. Plus they started chucking these humongous firecrackers one of which exoploded right over my head. It was insane.

Now I know why supposedly the arab kids are afraid of them lol.

When I lived in J-Town my kids spent half a day in school and the other half in the park. Every single day. No complications and no worries. And every single kid in the neighborhood did the same. Only difference was which kids had off-brand Bamba and which kids had the real stuff.

I should mention that miles and points are so great because they allow you to enjoy the great experiences of wealth without the negatives that come along with it.

It's hard to feel like you are overpaying for a $5,000 first class flight when all it cost you was 1/3 of a credit pull.

do you really see the whole world trying to become rich? i dont. i see a world of people trying to make more than they have, maybe to buy a cadilac or a lexus, or even a bit better than that. i do not think that most people (even those that say they want it) have the drive to make a billion dollars

Gotta agree with damaxer and chaikel. Its a whole diff mentality growing up here, even as an American. Like chaikel and i were discussing on shabb we live nice and fine, we have our hellmans and Heinz - but it doesn't mean we bring in meat, and still we have smiles on our faces and are bh very content in where were holding.
