I have a 9930 with unlimited global data, but tethering or hotspot costs extra. Is there any workaround?

sure, those aren't services they're features which VZ locks u out of on ur own device. i personally dont know how but there are many who do , i would start with a google search. to start, i'm assuming ur going to need the MSL to get into the phone programming and if vz is any thin g like sprint, it should be quite easy to get

You will need to install an app, I think there is one called tetherberry.

bottom line an app cant give ur phone the ability to be a hotspot if the requisite hardware isnt there. an app can just provide programming software which means it can be done and there is a work around if u can program it right (ie: app)
