Are you planning to attend?
Do you think it will be a success for people to find jobs, network, ect?

So far we have 3 yes votes and 3 unsure votes out of the 80 people that viewed this thread. Is that a good sign on attendence or a bad sign?

Last year in Lkwd it was full. I really think a lot of people will go. I just do not understand why it's on a weekday, wouldn't a Sunday make more sense? People who do have jobs but looking for networking or better jobs will not be able to really attend.

Probably because the people on the other side of the table wouldn't attend if its on a Sunday.

I'm not terribly impressed with them so far.

A) Call it a JOB fair!! 'Hi, I'm Yanky and I'm looking for a Parnassa....' Can you help me find a Parnassah?

B) Why do they refuse to put out a list of companies that are hiring?
C) Last year it was local and very easy for people from Lakewood to attend. Now it's far away - opens up more possibillities, but only someone who is really motivated will shlep out there.
D) It started out as a ~~job fair~~ Parnassah Expo, and then (due to lack of jobs avail? - See B above) it turned into a Business to Business event that will happen to have a section of companies hiring.
My overall impression: For B2B it will be excellent, but for finding a job, though it may be a good networking opportunity, I suspect there may be very few booths offering jobs and tons of people bombarding those booths making any individuals chance of finding a job there pretty slim. I've been to many job fairs in my day and even with 100's of booths hiring, it's very hard to get noticed from amongst the thousands of people looking.

Oh and if anyone from the Parnassah Expo is reading this, at the one in Lakewood last year there were announcements every few minutes over the PA system booming out a lot of non essential info that made it extremely difficult to carry out a conversation.

Also, something was striking me funny about their ad and I finally figured it out! The guy is shaking with the wrong hand!!

I think thats because they honestly have no clue. I was in their office the other day and they are so overwhelmed by the amount of people calling just to get space and booths, that they have no clue what the booths are for. They just are figuring which of the 5 sections to put you into, and thats it for now, and they move on to the next call.

Probably because a lot of people bh have jobs, don't live in USA, or close to where this is taking place.

Feb 12 is Lincoln's birthday. It is considered somewhat of a holiday. Do people have off that day from work and are able to attend, or not?

Tons of booth, mostly businesses advertising, and a small section for hiring.

Read the comments. I was spot on. A B2B event with small businesses trying to drum up business and very few available jobs. The question is, why was this pegged as the ultimate solution for the unemployed man??

I find it despicable that your one and only post on this forum is bashing an Askan and his projects. There were many who didn't like the way the event was ran, regardless most people understand that there were only good intentions involved and they will make an effort to improve the model in the future.
